Nastassia Darby, who goes by the artist name Nas Dynasty, is a New York City–based tattoo artist & multidisciplinary designer.

When asked to describe her tattoos, she frames her practice around two distinct styles. Her illustrative fine-line style is demonstrated through her custom body jewelry pieces and delicately shaded reproductions of sculptures and ancient artifacts. Her ornamental tribal style is showcased through her striking ear tattoo designs and floral silhouettes. “My artistic goals have always been to pay homage to makers of the past,” says Nas, “no matter how I express it visually, my style is meant to be timeless.”
Nas’s academic and creative backgrounds have had strong impacts on her work as a tattooer, artist, and visual designer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, a minor in art history and a master’s degree in experience design from DePaul University in her hometown of Chicago.
Nas currently co-owns and works at Flower World, a private studio in Brooklyn, New York, where she prioritizes making the tattoo experience feel welcoming and safe for her clients.
Publications
Nas was published in Tattoo You: A New Generation of Artists by Phaidon Press in March 2024. The book features 75 contemporary artists from around the world who are pushing the boundaries and creating new possibilities in the tattoo industry.
